Thomas Langlois represented Québec City at the Slamovision 2025 final event
On November 6, the public was invited to view the Slamovision 2025 final event live on YouTube while it was taking place in person in Dublin, a UNESCO City of Literature. This year, Thomas Langlois represented Québec City, with Bangbang! (Panpan!), a powerful performance about television and the state of the world.
Our local champion and 16 other artists from literary cities competed for the grand prize in this slam poetry competition, showcasing languages and ideas through themes such as identity, war, climate change, and artificial intelligence. This year, for the first time, poets from India and Ukraine participated in this highly anticipated competition. Henri Morray from Iowa City won the grand prize with his slam poem “Jack in the Box.”
All the works submitted this year can be viewed on the project’s website. Thomas Langlois's slam poem is also featured in the Maison de la littérature’s Virtual Salon. To learn more about his work, read this interview with Thomas from a previous edition of Slamovision (in French).
