Poésie sur les toits
Poésie sur les Toits is a series of five light art works installed in Québec’s city centre since June 2021. From their perches on high, these neon pieces light up the night sky in an ode to Québec’s literary brilliance.
The snippets of poetry are by local authors Anthony Charbonneau Grenier, Catherine Côté, Sébastien Émond, Mireille Gagné, and Andrée Levesque Sioui, who is from Wendake and whose phrase is in Wendat.
The pieces are in high-traffic locations where they can easily be seen by residents and visitors: City Hall, Palais Montcalm, Espace 400e, Grand Marché de Québec, and Place des Canotiers.
The last fragment, “Oublie pas ton lunch” (“Don’t forget your lunch”) is destined for Place des Canotiers, while “Ensemble nous redeviendrons” (“Together, we’ll become again”) will go back to the roof of Palais Montcalm.
A video was also produced to document the creative process, from idea to installation.
